READING ROUTES

CBPE / THE PATISSERIE STUDY EDITION

Follow a question.
Leave room to return.

Three short routes through the collection. These are educational reading suggestions, not an approved curriculum, course level or assessed programme.

A

A READING ROUTE / THREE NOTES

Read the learning relationship

For questions about outcomes, activities and relevant records.

  1. A learning outcome that can be discussed

Read an outcome as a relationship between understanding, activity and the evidence that can be discussed.

  2. The task and the record belong together

Choose the evidence after you understand what the activity was intended to make visible.

  3. A reading path should leave room to return

Build a short route through a question, with a clear reason for each reading and an honest stopping point.

B

A READING ROUTE / THREE NOTES

Build a useful journal entry

For keeping observation, interpretation and feedback in context.

  1. A journal entry with a next question

Keep the reference, task, observation and next question together, rather than collecting unexplained photographs.

  2. Feedback is a context, not a slogan

Record what a comment addressed before carrying it into another exercise.

  3. Read a photograph for what it can show

An image can support observation while leaving the method, authorship and outcome to be explained.

C

A READING ROUTE / THREE NOTES

Choose a purposeful resource

For matching a reference to a particular question and its limits.

  1. A resource chosen for a purpose

A useful reference answers a particular question. Its type, context and limits belong beside the link.

  2. Read a photograph for what it can show

An image can support observation while leaving the method, authorship and outcome to be explained.

  3. A reading path should leave room to return

Build a short route through a question, with a clear reason for each reading and an honest stopping point.

The route is revisable.
The question gives it purpose.

After reading, name what became clearer, what remains uncertain and which source or teaching discussion the next step needs.
