THE STUDY SUBJECTS

CBPE / THE PATISSERIE STUDY EDITION

Three ways to read
the learning.

A learning outcome, a journal entry and a resource selection raise different questions. Begin with the one that fits your present context.

SUBJECT 01 / LEARNING STRUCTURE

A learning outcome that can be discussed

Describe what a learner is expected to understand or demonstrate, then ask which activity would make that learning visible. A topic list alone does not establish an assessment method.

  • What should become understandable?
  • Which activity produces relevant evidence?
  • Who approves the actual standard?

SUBJECT 02

A journal entry with a next question

A practice journal can record the source, task, observation and feedback without becoming a catalogue of unexplained photographs. State your actual role and any authorised changes.

  1. What was the task?
  2. What did the feedback address?
  3. Which next question is specific enough to use?

SUBJECT 03

A resource chosen for a purpose

Name the question before collecting references. A complete method, a diagram, a practitioner account and an institutional syllabus can answer different kinds of questions.

  1. Which question does the resource address?
  2. What kind of source is it?
  3. What does it leave unanswered?
