01

The purpose of the edition

A practical learning discussion can begin with the purpose of a task, the reference used and the record selected. This publication offers original notes and questions that help a reader describe those relationships more clearly.

02

Three related subjects

Learning structure asks what an activity is intended to make understandable. Reflective records ask what was observed and what remains uncertain. Purposeful resources ask which source belongs to the question. Each subject can support the next without becoming a complete programme.

03

The institutional boundary

This publication does not award qualifications, accredit institutes, determine examination eligibility or imply statutory authority through its name. The responsible provider sets actual curriculum, teaching and assessment arrangements.

04

A reader’s own context

Use the notes to frame questions, keep sources visible and prepare discussion. Practical activity needs a complete appropriate method and the guidance required by the setting. Private writing tools are not an institutional student-record system.

THERE IS ALWAYS ANOTHER QUESTION TO ASK.
